Introducing Nine Baskets

A few years ago, I — a fashion stylist — and my partner, a software engineer, began shaping an idea: what if shopping and styling felt effortless, intelligent, and genuinely personal for women with demanding careers?

The need was clear. Many of our friends working in corporate roles would often say the same thing: “I have a wardrobe full of clothes, but nothing feels quite right for work.”

Existing services felt transactional rather than transformational. They lacked true personalisation and rarely made women feel genuinely understood. Having worked within one of those companies myself, I knew there was space for something better.

Nine Baskets was created to fill that space — and, most importantly, to ensure women feel truly seen and heard by their stylist.

There is nothing more powerful than watching a woman feel confident in what she’s wearing. When your outfit aligns with who you are and where you’re going, that confidence becomes visible. And considering we spend over 40 hours a week at work, shouldn’t we feel exceptional while doing it?

After months of building our platform from the ground up, speaking with professional women across London, understanding their frustrations, and refining our services, Nine Baskets was born.

The Story Behind Our Name

We wanted a name with meaning.

“Nine” is a subtle nod to the 9–5 rhythm that shapes so many professional lives — and to the expression “dressed to the nines.” Across cultures, the number nine also symbolises completion and good fortune.

“Baskets” represents the shopping basket — simple, intuitive, digital. It reflects convenience. No rushing between shops after work. No overwhelming online browsing. We curate your edit while you focus on what matters most.
